I've lived in the area since 1997, when my parents settled in Wasaga Beach after years of moving around as a military family. People ask me all the time where I like to eat in Midland, so here are a few of my personal favourites.
I'm a Realtor, and I help people move to Midland. Knowing a town means knowing where to grab lunch, where to take someone for date night and where to go for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This isn't a ranking. It's just the spots we keep going back to.
Prices were checked in October 2026 and can change. The ranges are rough, per person, before tax and tip. Test Batches is the exception: its prices include tax and there's no tipping.
Nare Japanese Restaurant

Nare is my absolute favourite in Midland. The ingredients are super fresh.
My go-to order is the Hamachi Oshi Sushi (marked gluten free on their menu), the Salmon Oshi Sushi, the Bincho Oshi Sushi and the Nare Roll.
It's a small venue, so book a reservation before you go. And if you get delivery, here's my tip: ask for their homemade soy sauce.
Dino's Fresh Food Deli

Dino's has been my go-to lunch spot for years. I usually order the Mile High Corned Beef On Rye with a side of Dino's Famous Pasta Salad. The soup is great too. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
When we have a big group event, I always order a large family bowl of the pasta salad to go. The large might not say it feeds 50. But it will.
MegaMindful

MegaMindful uses quality ingredients. The menu is all vegetarian (their menu says 100% plant-based), but not short on taste.
My favourites are the Mad Thai and the ramen dish. The Breakfast Wrap is another go-to. The coffee is great, and you have to try the Grilled Cheese. If you have room, the chocolate-covered dates or the protein balls are amazing.
Test Batches Brewery

I'm not a big drinker, but it's nice to have a craft brewery in town to hang out at. It's a great spot for nibbles and drinks with friends, it tends to be an older crowd, and there are lots of non-alcoholic options too.
It's also a no-tipping restaurant. In their words, they "want to pay our team members a liveable wage." Everything is tax included, so the price you see is the price you pay (their FAQ).
Zanca

Zanca is great for lunch and dinner. The portions are good and the service is quick. I usually get the shrimp tacos or the nachos.
Fair warning: the margaritas are dangerous.
Mom's Restaurant

Mom's is our go-to breakfast place. We usually go on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and I never order anything but the eggs Benny (Eggs Benedict on the menu).
It's family friendly, there's lots of parking, and it feels like home inside. In all these years I've never tried dinner, but I hear the prime rib is amazing.
Lilly's Italian Eatery

Lilly's is a great date night. It's intimate, with low light and a nicely renovated room, and the drink options are creative. The food is amazing.
For mains I go for the Truffle Ravioli or the Brisket. My go-to starters are the Filo Wrapped Brie and the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta. Everything on the menu is worth the wait.
Kelseys

Kelseys is my steady Eddy. Yes, it's a chain, but I've never had bad service there. There's lots of seating, the prices are fair, the staff are nice and the atmosphere is great.
It works for lunch with a colleague or dinner with friends and family, and it's kid friendly for both. The wings are great, the nachos are great, and the Chicken, Beet & Goat Cheese Salad is excellent.
On my list to try again
Rani Sa Restaurant (Indian), 345 King St. We've only been once, but the food was great and we'll be going back again. It's 4.8 on Google as of October 2026.
What are your favourites?
That's my list for now, and I know I've missed some good ones. Where do you like to eat in Midland? Send me a note and tell me your favourites. I'm always happy to find a new spot to try.
